Raised Panel Doors Style

Raised panel doors takes a lot of talent and time to do. The doors consist of rails (sides of the door), side panels and the recessed panel held in place by the frame of the door, known as a raised panel. It is this panel that defines the style of the whole cabinet. There are a few different styles of raised panel doors. Windsor style is one of the most common raised panel door styles, probably because of the simplified style. The panel has a curved edge, making it a soft raised panel. The rails and stiles of the door frame has just rounded detail on the inside of the frame that holds the raised panel in place, providing a simple, classic look that goes with almost any decor.

Arched top raised panel doors have a curved inner edge of the top rail that provides extra character. These doors are harder cabinetmaker to build and are therefore more expensive than the Windsor style. An inside and outside railway detail is common to detail balances the look of the doors.

The names of the decorative molding raised panel doors are not common with each other as Windsor or arched top style doors. These doors have a basic rail and stile frame with either no decorative edges or outside a decorative border, depending on how the door is embellished. The inside frame edges has a decorative molding sitting on the edge of the inside of the frame, providing door much depth. These doors are the most expensive raised panel doors.
